Anesthesia Tech Contract Job
Overview
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Employment type: Contractor
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shift: 8-hour evening shift
- Hours per week: 40
Work Setting
- Acute care, high-acuity anesthesia support role in a hospital setting
- Areas may include Main OR, CVOR, Cath Lab, Radiology, and other areas requiring general anesthesia
- Patient types include CVOR, Neuro, Ortho, General, Transplants, GYN, and Cath Lab cases
Required Qualifications
- Anesthesia Technician experience within the last year
- BLS
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Skills
- Open sterile supplies
- Set up Mayo stand
- Place EKG leads and blood pressure cuffs
- Monitor pulse oximetry
- Familiarity with TEE imaging units
- Familiarity with defibrillators
- Assist with intubation when needed
- Familiarity with vents, including filling gases and calibrating the machine
- IABP setup, troubleshooting, alarms, and patient transport with IABP
Preferred Experience
- Anesthesia gas analyzers
- Placing arterial lines
- Starting IVs
- Cell Saver, blood recovery, and auto transfusion systems
- Fiberoptic scopes
- Prepping cases for patients with pacemakers
Orientation and Support
- Up to 2 weeks of unit orientation
- Anesthesia tech lead available until 1400
- Other anesthesia techs available until 1900
- Anesthesiologist in house 24/7
- RT in house 24/7
- Hospitalist in house 24/7
Scheduling Notes
- No weekend rotation
- No call
- Up to 5 days of requested time off may be approved
- Holiday coverage expected for 50% of holidays per contract
Additional Details
- Floating may occur within the facility to other areas requiring general anesthesia
- Scrubs are provided
- Free employee parking
- First-time travelers are accepted
