- General Information
- Beds: 21 Main OR; 8 CVOR
- Census: dependent on area assigned.
- Experience: 1 year. Need acute care, high acuity experience.
- First-time traveler: Yes
- Beds: 21 Main OR; 8 CVOR
- Patient Types:
- CVOR, Neuro, Ortho, General, Transplants (will not do liver), GYN, Cath Lab (TAVRs, Watchman).
- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- High school diploma or above
- Skills required
- Open sterile supplies (art lines, central lines, PA catheters, etc.), set up Mayo stand, placing EKG leads, placing blood pressure cuffs, monitoring pulse ox, familiar with TEE imaging units, familiar with defibrillators, assist with intubation if needed (knowing different intubation blades, bronchoscopes, etc.), familiar with vents (filling gases, calibrating machine), IABP set up (troubleshoot, alarms, etc.) and patient transport with IABP
- Preferred (seek manager approval if candidate does not have experience): experience with anesthesia gas analyzers (POC testing for blood gas and understanding any abnormal readings), placing art lines, starting IVs, experience with Cell Saver, blood recovery, auto transfusion systems, fiberoptic scopes, prepping cases for patients with pacemakers
- Support on the Unit:
- Anesthesia Tech Lead (no patient assignment) until 1400
- Other Anesthesia Techs until 1900
- Anesthesiologist in house 24/7
- Manager/Supervisor
- Standard OR staff (RN, Surg Tech, Surg Assist, etc.)
- Charge RNs in other units when floating
- RT 24/7
- Hospitalist 24/7
- Charting System/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Med Dispensing: Pyxis
- Floating:
- Will float to any area that requires general anesthesia, including Main OR, CVOR, Cath Lab, Radiology, etc. (only within this facility)
- Orientation:
- NEO
- Up to 2 weeks of unit orientation (will do 0530-1400 for orientation)
- Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: none
- Call: none
- Approval of RTO: up to 5 days.
- Holiday Expectations: 50% of holidays per contract
- Shift times: dependent on requisition
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
