Contract Length

Shift

• Evening and night shifts
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• TNCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Trauma experience
• Pediatrics experience

Preferred Experience

• Pediatric experience
• Level I or II trauma experience
• Cerner experience

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Unit Details

• 38-bed combined Emergency and Urgent Care unit
• 5 trauma bays/resuscitation rooms
• Adult and pediatric Level II trauma center
• STEMI receiving and stroke center
• No separate fast track; urgent care is used instead
• ER holds are intermixed within the ER
• 4 dedicated psych rooms
• In-house security 24/7
• Average daily volume: 140–180 patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 in ER, 1:6 in urgent care

Clinical Support and Workflow

• Travelers are expected to triage
• RN draws labs
• Phlebotomy draws blood cultures when available
• RT is available in-house 24/7
• No monitor techs
• X-ray and CT are both within the department
• Transport team operates 06:00–21:00

Orientation

• 3-day orientation with computer-based training and unit preceptorship

Additional Notes

• Floating is limited to sitter or helping-hands roles only
• No on-call requirement
• Solid-color, clean, professional scrubs required
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• If the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
