Hood River, OR
About
Nestled along the Columbia River just an hour from Portland in northern Oregon, Hood River is an internationally famous destination among windsurfers and kiteboarders. It’s also a popular base for wine tasting and touring, with many world-class vineyards in the area. As the gateway to more than 90 waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge area, there's something to enjoy during every season. Spring brings colorful wildflowers and fruit blossoms, with summer days spent watching the incredible athletes challenge themselves on the water. Fall colors splash across the magnificent landscapes in autumn, and winter features the glorious Cascade Mountains at their best with snow-capped peaks. Historic buildings line the downtown area, housing galleries, boutiques, designer shops, antique stores, coffee shops and over 30 restaurants.
