Assignment Details

• Travel position
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday support required
• Travelers will be required to float
• No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• Ventilator management experience
• Critical care pharmacology experience (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring experience
• Central line management experience

Unit Environment

• 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 2:1 ICU, 4-5:1 PCU
• Charge nurse is out of staffing
• No unit secretaries or patient care technicians
• Bedside shift report is mandatory
• Relief charge nurse performs nurse leader rounding

• Ventilator management
• Critical care pharmacology, including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Central line management
• Ability to assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations
• Critical thinking, flexibility, and teamwork

• IV pumps
