Acute Rehab Unit RN

Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• Strong neuro skills

• Last four digits of SSN
• Middle initial
• Requested time off
• Negative drug screen

Unit Details

• 29 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights
• Common patient population includes neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical patients
• Tracheostomy patients are included; no vents
• RN team conference participation is required
• RN does not titrate drips
• Heparin is the only listed titratable/set-rate drip
• Tele is present, but RN does not monitor strips
• No charge nurses; house supervisors are present
• Nurse aides are on the unit with a 1:9 to 1:10 ratio
• PT/OT/ST services are on the unit
• CPAP/BiPAP is used only at night for sleep apnea
• High-flow nasal cannula can be used, but heated high-flow is not available
• Floating is required to LTAC and med-surg; HAU only if trained

Orientation

• 12 hours of non-billable orientation
• 2 days of class orientation
• 2 to 3 days or nights with a preceptor
• Training includes QRP and rehab documentation

Dress Code

• Any color scrubs
• No t-shirts unless approved

• Local placements within 50 miles are accepted
