Description
Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Overview
- Contract role
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Setting
- Emergency department with 12 beds, including triage
- Level IV trauma center
- Primary stroke center
- Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, with most patients being adults
- Typical patient ratio is 1:5, with up to 6 rarely based on acuity
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- TNCC
- PALS
- CPI or MOAB
Key Skills
- General emergency department skillset
- Chest tubes

- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Every-other-weekend rotation
- No call
- Holiday schedule varies based on unit need
- Floating is not required
- One shift of orientation on the unit
Unit Support
- CNA support ratio is 1:12
- Resource nurse/lead RN available
- Respiratory therapy is in house 24/7
- Hospitalist is in house 24/7
- Bedside and nursing station telemetry are used, with no telemetry technician

- First-time travelers are considered upon review
- Free onsite parking
- Any scrub color is allowed
