Registered Nurse — Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Overview

• PACU role in a 12-bed unit
• Patient population includes all types
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
• Drips and titrations are part of the role
• Scrub color is hospital provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Strong experience reading telemetry
• Drips and titration experience
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• Pediatric care experience

Scheduling / Assignment Expectations

• Required to work 1–2 of the following summer holidays unless the unit is closed: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
• Billable overtime applies after 40 hours per week, and again after 48 hours per week in the stated pay structure
• On-call, callback, and charge/precept pay differentials are mentioned in the source
