Unit Details
- Behavioral health psychiatric unit
- Patient populations include adolescents and adults across multiple unit types
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 8:1
- Coverage includes three 12-hour shifts per day, seven days a week, including weekends
- Floating is based on greatest need
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Behavioral Health experience within the last year
- 1 year of Behavioral Health experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- CPI
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ mental health status
- Develop individualized care plans
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
- Use therapeutic communication with patients
- Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects
Additional Notes
- Active Blue Card CPI required to submit
- Meditech is used for documentation
- Required uniform: blue for nurses, green or black for MHTs, or black
