Description

Labor and Delivery

Job Overview

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 20 weeks
Start preference: August 24 or September 8
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Call requirement: None
RTO restriction: No RTO for the first 8 days of the contract

Unit Details

15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
Nurses provide antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn care at delivery, and couplet care
Nurses also perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens
Patient staffing follows AWHONN guidelines

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM
Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) triage experience

Preferred Qualifications

AWHONN Advanced
Scrub

Work Expectations

Will work in all areas of LDRP
May float to sitter coverage in the house when needed
May float to labor and delivery and mother baby when census and need arise

Additional Notes

Scrubs are provided
Training will be provided for newborn infant hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
EPIC documentation is used
