Description

ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
Contract length: 13 weeks
Floating role covering ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units
Weekend coverage required
One holiday required per 13-week contract
First-time travelers accepted
Local candidates accepted
Block scheduling available by request

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
IV therapy experience
PICC line management experience
Central line care and management experience
Arterial line management experience
Blood product administration experience
Trach management experience
Non-invasive airway support experience including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
Continuous IV sedation experience
Emergency medications experience
Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips experience
Experience working with patient ratios of at least 1:5
Experience with Epic

Scheduling and Work Expectations

May float 2–3 times per shift, with staffing re-evaluated every 4 hours
Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
All requested time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling requests must be submitted with the application

Compliance and Onboarding

Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
E-Verify or attestation required
7-year background check required within 1 year of start
Education verification of highest earned degree required
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit mask testing within 1 year of start and updated annually
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
TB questionnaire required
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Two clinical references required
Resume/application required
Skills checklist required and updated annually
