ICU Travel/Contract RN

Overview

• Location: Roanoke, Virginia
• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Floating: May float between ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units; may float multiple times per shift
• Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• Holiday requirement: One holiday per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise an active Virginia or compact RN/LPN license is required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• IV therapy experience
• PICC line management experience
• Central line care and management experience
• Arterial line management experience
• Blood product administration experience
• Trach management experience
• Non-invasive airway support experience including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Continuous IV sedation experience
• Emergency medications experience
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips experience
• Experience with Epic

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

• Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
• E-Verify or attestation required
• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM required within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of state license required within 30 days of start
• Nursys verification required within 30 days of start
• Photo for badge required
• Access and confidentiality agreement required within 48 hours of signing
• New hire paperwork required before start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit test within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire required
• Drug screen within 30 days of start
• 2 clinical references required
• Application or resume required
• Skills checklist required and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be included with submission
