Description
ICU Travel/Contract RN
Overview
- Location: Roanoke, Virginia
- Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Floating: May float between ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units; may float multiple times per shift
- Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
- Holiday requirement: One holiday per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise an active Virginia or compact RN/LPN license is required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- IV therapy experience
- PICC line management experience
- Central line care and management experience
- Arterial line management experience
- Blood product administration experience
- Trach management experience
- Non-invasive airway support experience including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
- Continuous IV sedation experience
- Emergency medications experience
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips experience
- Experience with Epic
Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM required within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start
- Primary source verification of state license required within 30 days of start
- Nursys verification required within 30 days of start
- Photo for badge required
- Access and confidentiality agreement required within 48 hours of signing
- New hire paperwork required before start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire required
- Drug screen within 30 days of start
- 2 clinical references required
- Application or resume required
- Skills checklist required and updated annually
Additional Notes
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be included with submission
