Ultrasound General/Vascular Tech

Job Overview

  • Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging
  • Location: Washington, Iowa
  • Facility: Washington County Hospital
  • Employment Type: Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
  • Hours per Week: 40

Role Summary

  • Perform echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, general ultrasound, abdominal/OB-GYN, and vascular studies.
  • Assist radiologist and pathologist during procedures.
  • Support patient flow, front desk check-in/out, transporting patients, and other department patient care needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Ultrasound Technologist (1 year of experience)
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARDMS or CCI
  • RCS
  • Echo Technologist experience
  • Vascular Technologist experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • RDCS registration.
  • RVT registration.
  • RDMS registration in abdomen and OB-GYN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality ultrasound and echocardiography studies according to policies and procedures.
  • Use EMRs to generate and complete exam orders.
  • Perform, record, and analyze QC data.
  • Maintain equipment, cleanliness, and a safe working environment.
  • Contact service personnel and notify supervisors about malfunctioning equipment.
  • Release and transmit images using PACS.
  • Support supply management and collaborate with other departments to improve patient and staff experience.
