Description

Critical Care Float

Location

  • Newark, New Jersey

Job Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • 13 weeks

Shift

  • Night shift
  • 3x12 hours
  • 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Schedule

  • Every other weekend

Unit Coverage / Floating

  • Float within skill set as needed to ICU, CCU, CTICU, and Step Down
  • May also float to holding areas, including the ED for admitted ICU patients awaiting a bed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • Critical Care Float (1.5 years of experience)
  • Critical Care Float experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 1.5 or more years of acute care experience related to the position
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
  • CCU - Coronary Care experience
  • CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care experience
  • Stepdown experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Swan Ganz catheters
  • Exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD devices
  • Previous CTICU or medical cardiology experience

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Navy blue scrubs required
