RN - Med Surg

Overview

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Unit Details

Unit: 4east
Beds: 30
Patient ratio: 1:6
Staff support: Clinical coordinators, unit secretary, PCTs, and case management
Documentation system: Meditech
Floating: Rotates with other staff
Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule, with holiday rotation
Patient experience target: 72% using communication boards
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
Experience with various respiratory diseases and illnesses
Experience with renal disease
Experience with GI illnesses and diseases
Experience with central venous catheters (CVCs)
Experience with indwelling catheters
Experience with heparin infusions

Clinical Experience

Medical-surgical care, including experience with respiratory diseases/illnesses, renal disease, GI diseases/illnesses, telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips
