Description
RN - Med Surg
Role Overview
- Travel RN position in Alexandria, Louisiana
- Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Full-time
- 3 openings
- Temp-to-perm is a possibility
Contract
- 13 weeks
Clinical Setting
- Med-surg unit with a focus on post-surgical patients, including orthopedics and general surgery
- Also serves neuro patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process
- Administer medications and treatments
- Monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- 1 year of Med Surg experience
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Schedule / Work Conditions
- Must be willing to float
- Weekends could be required
- No call
- Patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- EPIC experience is a bonus
