Description
Medical Surgical Nurse
Location
- Battle Creek, Michigan
Assignment Details
- Travel/contract position
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Up to 26 weeks
- Holiday coverage required
- Every other weekend required
- First to float
- Floating to other Med Surg units required
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Unit Overview
- Observation unit with 10 beds
- ER overflow setting
- Patient ratios: 1:6 at night, 1:5 during the day
- Rapid admit/discharge workflow with constant reassessment for discharge readiness
- Med Surg units may flex to 8 patients with RN paired with LPN for support
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
Preferred
- Travel experience is highly preferred
- Candidates with no travel experience may be considered if they have more permanent experience
Work Environment
- Must be willing to work with a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and techs
