ICU Registered Nurse Contract

Overview

• Contract role for an ICU registered nurse
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS
• Cardiovascular and cardiovascular surgery experience
• Experience with IABPs
• Experience with Impellas

Clinical Experience and Skills

• Ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Invasive line management, including arterial lines, CVP, and Swan-Ganz
• Drain and chest tube management
• Foley catheter management
• Post-surgical recovery
• Post-cath experience
• CVVH
• CRRT

Unit Details

• 17-bed ICU
• Typical patient ratio is 1:2, based on acuity
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Travelers float first
• May float within scope to intermediate units, MSU, ED boarding, and observation units

Schedule

• Every-other-weekend rotation
• 1 holiday per contract
• No on-call requirement
• Schedule is built in 4-week increments
• Shift times are 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Orientation

• 1 day of orientation

• Scrub color may be any color except camo, graphics, logos, or designs
• More than 2 sick calls may prompt contract review and possible termination
