Description
Critical Care ICU Neurology Nurse
Overview
- Contract role
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Neuro ICU (4 years of experience)
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Experience with Epic
Unit Details
- Neuro ICU with 27 beds
- Average census: 25 patients per day
- Patient mix includes neurocritical care and non-neuro ICU overflow
- Typical ratios: 1:1-2, with 1:3 for mixed acuity
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- No on-call
- Shift times: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
- Schedule cycles in 6-week increments
Floating
- May float to ED holding, other ICUs, medical-surgical unit, sitter, and PACU surge
Orientation
- Facility and unit orientation included
- One shift of unit orientation
Additional Details
- Free parking
- Scrubs: any solid color without graphics, logos, or designs
- Weekly hours cannot exceed 60 or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
