Job Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of nursing experience, excluding Home Health, Hospice, and School Services, within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Competency exam required for all candidates
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs
- 2 references required
- Background check required
- Fingerprinting required
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months before start
- TB questionnaire required annually
- Drug test within 1 year of start
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required
- COVID-19 booster preferred, not required
Assignment Notes
- Coverage is needed for incarcerated individuals with chronic illnesses and handicapped incarcerated individuals
- The facility also supports evaluation for and initiation of a MAT program
- The infirmary has 18 beds and serves individuals from another facility as well
