Description
Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), 14 beds
- Patient Ratio: 2:1
- Staffing: RNs only (no techs or unit secretaries)
- Equipment: Phillips monitors
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Options for block scheduling with either 3 shifts of 12 hours or 4 shifts of 9 hours
- Floating: Minimal floating may be required
- Dress Code: Any dark color scrubs
- Call: One weekend call shift per month
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
- Experience managing post-operative patients from craniotomies, spine surgeries, thoracotomies, general gastrointestinal/genitourinary (GI/GU), vascular, and bariatric surgeries
- Skills in managing arterial lines (ALINE), chest tubes, and central lines
