Description
Surgical Room
Overview
- Contract role in surgical services
- 13-week contract
- 40 hours per week
- Day shift
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Operating Room experience
- Operating Room experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Trauma experience
- BLS
- CSA
Role Details
- Works in an operating room setting with outpatient, inpatient, and trauma cases
- Case mix includes general surgery, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, open hearts/CABGs, transplant, donor, and trauma cases
- Hybrid room cases are adult only and include TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions
- Pediatric cases make up about 20% of volume
- No liver or lung transplant cases
- Must be able to scrub and circulate
- On-call may be required depending on shift and service line, with a 30-minute response time
- Holiday coverage is required
Schedule
- Rotation-based schedule with no self-scheduling
- Weekend rotation every 4th weekend
- Schedule is provided 2–4 weeks in advance
- Shift times listed include 0645–1515, 1445–1915, and 2245–0715
Orientation
- First day includes educator and ANM introductions, login access, online modules, and EPIC training
- Unit orientation occurs on days 2–3

- Floating is not required
- Scrubs are provided
- Free parking is available
- Sleeping room available for on-call team member
