Description
Labor and Delivery RN Travel Assignment
Location
- Smyrna, Tennessee
Job Type
- Travel
- 36 hours per week
- 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Women’s Services unit
- Labor and delivery setting with postpartum and OB emergency care
- 9 labor and delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and 3 OBED beds
- Patient ratio: 1–2
- Floating may include mother/baby or other departments as needed
Schedule
- 4 weekend shifts per month
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- ACLS
- AWHONN
- BLS
- NRP
- Fetal Monitoring Assessment
Helpful Experience or Skills
- Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities
- Spinning Babies knowledge is helpful
- STABLE knowledge is helpful
Procedures / Clinical Exposure
- Circulating in OR
- IUPC
- FSE
- Magnesium sulfate
- Postpartum hemorrhage management, including JADA system
- Nitrous oxide
Additional Unit Notes
- Laborist team model with 24/7 midwives
- Dedicated CRNA and OB on call
- Couplet care in postpartum to keep newborn at bedside and support breastfeeding
- Donor milk available when needed
- 8-bed level 2 NICU with dedicated NNP coverage 24/7
- NNP available for high-risk deliveries
