Surgical Technologist

Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
- Certified Surgical Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NBSTSA or CST
Key Responsibilities
- Assists during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile surgical field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team
- Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Maintains sterile and aseptic technique and follows AORN standards
- Checks packaging, processing, moisture, seals, sterile indicators, and expiration dates for sterile items
- Monitors the sterile field and initiates or notifies corrective action when contamination risk is identified
- Assists with patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation
- Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
- Participates in time-out processes, briefings, and debriefings
Additional Notes
- Must be HIPAA compliant
- Working knowledge or competency with Tier 1 surgical cases is expected
- This role provides patient care
