Description
Critical Care RN — CVICU
Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shift
- Hours per week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend rotation
- On-call: No
- Holidays: 1–2 per contract
- Orientation: 1 day
- Floating may include ED holding, other ICUs, MSU, sitter, and PACU surge
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- CVICU (1 year of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- Experience with Epic
Preferred
- CCRN
- Specific CV surgical experience, including ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD
Clinical Skills
- Invasive line monitoring
- Pacemaker management
- Chest tube care
- Cardiac medication administration
- Ventilator and trach management
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Drawing blood from invasive lines
Unit Environment
- 30-bed CVICU
- Level II trauma center
- Level III NICU
- Magnet designated
- Comprehensive stroke center
- Common patient types include post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repair/replacement, heart transplant, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery patients
Scheduling Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted if they meet the experience requirements
- Weekly hours cannot exceed 60
- No more than 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
Additional Details
- Free parking
- Any solid-color professional scrubs are allowed
- EPIC experience is used on the unit
