Description
Medical Surgical - Neuro RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Saint Cloud, Minnesota
- 13-week assignment
- 36 hours per week
- Day or night 3x12 schedule, flexible
- Every other weekend rotation
- Rotating holidays
- On-call may be required, with exact needs determined by the unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Med Surg experience
- Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Schedule and Work Setting
- Travelers may float to like units, including surgical care, medical units, and inpatient rehab units
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are not accepted if they live within 25 miles of the facility
Unit Details
- 45-bed Neuroscience Spine Unit
- 8-bed Neuro Progressive Care Unit
- Team nursing model used on the general Neuroscience Spine unit
- Primary nurse model used in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit
- Patient monitoring and support capabilities include ICP monitoring, arterial line monitoring, cardiac monitoring, remote cardiac monitoring, continuous EEG monitoring, and lumbar drainage systems
- Ceiling lifts are available in 20 patient rooms
Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- Criminal background check required
- GSA/SAM excluded provider check required
- OIG excluded provider check required
- Third-party education verification required
- Fingerprinting required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test required
- Tdap vaccination required
- TB clearance required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation required
- Hepatitis B vaccination, positive titer, or declination required
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Drug test required within 1 year of start
- Two references from recent employers within 2 years of start
- Skills checklist required
- Photo for badge required
- Confidentiality agreement must be signed before start
Additional Notes
- Pending license is accepted
- RTO must be finalized with submission
- No RTO is allowed during the first week of the assignment
- No more than 10 days of RTO per assignment
- Parking is free in unrestricted spaces
