Description
Home Health RN
Overview
- Travel/contract registered nurse role in home health
- Day shift: 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Local candidates accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders, agency policies, and the nursing process
- Supervise and evaluate home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses
- Typical caseload: 5–8 patients per day
- Territory includes home visits and periodic office meetings
- Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Home Health (1 year of experience)
- Home Health experience within the last year
- Hospice experience
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Driver's License
- Experience with Homecare Homebase
- Experience with OASIS
Schedule
- Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Weekend rotation varies by location; one Saturday per month may be required
- On-call varies by location and profession
Charting
- Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase within the last 6 months
- OASIS proficiency is required for RNs
Additional Notes
- Scrubs required
- Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
- No guaranteed hours
