Description
RN Medical Center
Overview
- Contract role in Nursing
- 12-week contract
- 12hr Night Shift, 36 hours per week
- Unit: WH and OB Serv
- Facility has 72 beds
- Unit has 13 beds: 12 L&D, 1 Triage, 1 OR
- Level III Trauma Center
- Level II NICU
- Primary Stroke Center
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (5 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS
- NRP
- FHM
- Antepartum experience
- Post Partum experience
- Experience circulating C-sections
- Experience recovering mother and infant post-operatively
Preferred
- First time traveler: upon review
Unit Details
- Patient ratios: 1:2 laboring, 1:1 active labor, 1:3 couplets
- Various gynecological surgeries are included in the patient mix
- Floating: none
- Orientation: at least one shift on unit to learn flow
Schedule
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- No on-call
- RTO requires manager approval
- Holiday expectations: night before and night after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years
Support / Equipment
- CNA ratio: 1:13
- OB techs serve as scrubs during C-sections
- Charge nurse has a light assignment
- Phlebotomy/RN draws blood
- OB-GYN on call at night
- Midwife on call at night
- OB-CRNA available 24/7 on weekends
- FHM monitoring at nurse’s station and bedside

- Charting/equipment: EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, Milktraker, CPN
- Scrub color: Procedural blues
