- 2 triage rooms
- 2 ORs
- 10-bed Level II NICU
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (2 years of experience)
- LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum experience within the last year
- BLS
- NRP
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC familiarity for RNs
- Post-women’s surgeries experience
Skills / Experience
- Cervical exams
- Amnio infusions
- Epidurals
- Fetal monitoring
- IV starts and IV management
- Pitocin
- Baby catching/receiving
- APGAR
- Basic breastfeeding education
- Comfortable with all aspects of postpartum care from transition to discharge for mom and baby
Patient Population
- 32 weeks and above
- Majority of patients are lower risk
- Hypertension
- Magnesium administration
- Medication management for substance abuse
- Elevated BMI
- Diabetes
- Post-delivery care continues in the same room
Ratios
- 1:1 laboring
- 1:2 active labor
- 1:3 couplets
Schedule
- 12-hour night shift
- Weekend rotation every 4th weekend
- Every other holiday
- 36 hours per week
- 6-week schedule cycle
- 1-2 days of unit orientation
Additional Details
- First-time travelers accepted
- No floating
- On-call required for OB Surg Techs: 4-6 shifts in a six-week period, overnight call only, 30-minute response time
