Description

Certified Surgical Technologist OR

Overview

  • Contract role in Bozeman, Montana
  • 13-week contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • 10–12 hour shifts depending on needs

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Surgical Technologist or NBSTSA
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association

Role Details

  • Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub person in the OR
  • Works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to help ensure a safe operating room environment and safe patient care during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
  • Responsible for completing case carts according to preference cards
  • Communicates with operating room and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and unscheduled cases
  • Reviews the daily schedule with the charge nurse and sterile processing day coordinator to identify turnover delays and scheduling issues
  • Coordinates core phone and communications duties, and helps coordinate breaks and lunches
  • Serves as a resource for SPD and Surgical Services for procurement of supplies and instrumentation
  • Communicates with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment

Additional Notes

  • Facility may cancel 3 shifts per 13-week contract in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances
