This is a great opportunity for a CST who is confident in the scrub role, understands surgical instrumentation and sterile technique, and can work collaboratively with surgeons, RNs, sterile processing, and other OR team members.


🩺 Position Highlights

  • Work as the Scrub Surgical Technologist under the direction of the surgeon and RN.
  • Support a safe and efficient OR environment.
  • Prepare and verify case carts according to surgeon preference cards.
  • Select appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled and add-on cases.
  • Coordinate closely with Sterile Processing (SPD) to ensure instrumentation is available when needed.
  • Review the daily surgical schedule and anticipate potential turnover or scheduling challenges.
  • Assist with coordinating OR communication, breaks, and lunches.
  • Serve as a resource for Surgical Services and SPD for instrumentation and supply needs.
  • Communicate with Materials Management regarding supply utilization and deployment.
  • Apply knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, surgical technique, instruments, and technology to support safe patient care.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, RNs, OR staff, SPD, and other departments.


📋 Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military surgical technologist program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
  • American Heart Association BLS required
  • Current/active required credentials
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced OR environment
  • Epic experience preferred/required for the assignment


⏰ Schedule & Contract Details

  • 13-week travel assignment
  • 40 hours/week guaranteed
  • Approximately 10–12-hour shifts, based on department needs
  • Holiday coverage required
  • Call may be required
  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment due to low census or unforeseen circumstances

Traveler must permanently reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for submission. Candidates who do not meet the 90-mile requirement cannot be submitted.
