Description
Home Health RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in home health
- Day shift: 5x8s, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Local candidates accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders and agency policies
- Supervise and evaluate home health aides and LPN/LVNs
- Typical caseload: 5–8 patients per day
- Territory includes home visits and periodic office meetings
- Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Home Health experience within the last year
- 1 year of Home Health experience
- Hospice experience
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Driver's License
- Experience with Homecare Homebase
- Experience with OASIS
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Weekend rotation: varies by location
- On-call: varies by location
- Standard schedule is 5x8s Monday–Friday
- Some locations may use a Baylor schedule of 4x10s Friday–Monday
Clinical and Documentation Requirements
- Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase and have used it within the last 6 months
- OASIS proficiency is required for RNs who have not used OASIS within the last 6 months
Additional Notes
- Scrubs required
- Guaranteed hours are not provided
- Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
- Home health and hospice placements require personal or auto insurance under the candidate’s name or listing the candidate as a driver
