Description
Med Surg/Tele RN - 4N ENT/General Medical
Location
- Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Role
- Med Surg/Tele RN - 4N ENT/General Medical
- Department: 4N PCU/MS RN
- 29-bed unit
Schedule
- Nights, 12 hours per shift
- 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend and holiday
- No call
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but the unit makes every effort to provide it when possible, especially for night shifts
Patient Population / Unit Focus
- Abdominal surgeries
- Ear/Nose/Throat surgeries
- Complex wounds
- General medical
Required Qualifications
- BLS (AHA)
- Intermediate Care background
- Experience with IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and Electronic Health Record use
- Ability to titrate drips
- Must note in submission if the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield; if previously worked there, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
- Must clock in and out at the facility
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS
Unit Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:6 on nights
- Nurse aides are present: 1:8 on days, 1:14 on nights
- Tele/monitor techs are on the unit; RNs are not required to read telemetry
- Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment; agency staff are not required to work in charge role
- Respiratory support/equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy; no vents
Floating
- Float on a rotation to other med/surg units if the unit is overstaffed
Orientation
- 12 hours computer training
- 12 hours shadowing
Dress Code
- Scrubs of any color
