Occupational Therapist
Assignment Overview
- Travel assignment in Salt Lake City, Utah
- 13-week assignment
- 36 hours per week
- Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Alternate weekends
Unit
- Ground West Rehab Center (ARC)
- Main Hospital, ground floor
- 16 beds
Patient Volume and Setting
- 3–5 patients per day
- No therapy aides on staff
- PCTs occasionally assist when available
- Therapists typically see patients for 90 minutes per day in two 45-minute blocks
- If low staffed and high census on weekends, patients may be seen for one 45-minute block to allow coverage of more patients
Floating and Scheduling
- Scheduled needs are every Fri-Sun, plus one mid-week shift on either the ARC or the acute care side
- Cross-training on the acute side occurs during week two
- If ARC is slow with low census, the traveler will be assigned to acute care for the day
- If census is low, the traveler may float to the acute care side of the hospital
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Utah
- Physical Therapist (2 years of experience)
- Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS
- Master's degree in physical therapy or Doctoral degree in physical therapy
- Experience working with Neuro patients
- Experience working with Trauma patients
- Understanding of neuro and multi-trauma diagnoses management
- Understanding of medically complex diagnoses
- Experience with mobility devices and lift systems
- Understanding of back braces, upper extremity/lower extremity positioning devices, and hip/spine/cardiac precautions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous acute rehab or acute care experience

- Understanding of back braces, UE/LE positioning devices, and hip/spine/cardiac precautions

- Staff wear badges while on the clock
- 30-minute lunch required for shifts over 6 hours
