Description
General Surgery RN
Role Overview
- General Surgery RN in the OR - Surgery General (Major) department.
- 14 suites for general surgery, 28 total.
- Average case volume is 20-40 cases per day for general surgery.
Required Qualifications
- BLS.
- RN license.
- Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
- 2 years of General, gyne, and urology experience.
- General surgery, urology, GYN, and ENT experience.
- EPIC experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in facilities and ORs similar in size within the last 2 years.
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts.
- Shifts are 7:00-17:30 or 12:30-23:00.
- 36 or 40 hours per week based on contract.
- No self-scheduling; block scheduling is determined by need.
- Call is 1 per week.
- Weekend call is every other or every third weekend depending on need.
- Call response time is 30 minutes.
Floating
- May float to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified.
Additional Details
- Local placements are accepted within a 50-mile radius.
- Hospital-provided scrubs.
- Unit-specific orientation may be up to one week, plus hospital-wide orientation.
- Drug screen must be negative for all panels.
- Submission requires the clinician’s last four SSN digits, middle initial, and requested time off.
