Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT)
Location: Jackson, Michigan
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Health
Job Summary
Under general supervision, perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties.
Essential Functions
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the exam.
- Review clinical data and obtain additional patient medical history as needed.
- Prepare procedure room and replenish supplies such as linen.
- Analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care if needed.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies for procedures; assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures like biopsies.
- Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
- Manage image quality and delivery into PACS; complete study indexing in Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing studies.
- Demonstrate team member standards including communication, positive attitude, innovation, and respect for diversity.
- Complete all necessary documentation in medical records and radiology systems to support clinical and billing functions.

- 13 weeks

Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Work may be in a hospital fixed unit or ambulatory mobile unit.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; must follow safety precautions.
- Possible exposure to contagious patients.
- Occasional lifting/moving of equipment or patients over 10 lbs.
Education & Certification Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
- BLS certification required.
- Must be registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and have advanced registry or eligibility in Computed Tomography (CT).
