Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Perioperative Services)
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (89 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
Summary
Registered Nurse providing safe, competent, quality perioperative care to patients in an endoscopy setting. Care is delivered based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice within a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Deliver patient care using Relationship Centered Care and nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs; apply critical thinking in care management.
- Integrate assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
- Prioritize patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and delegation.
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and care team members.
- Manage assignments within Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model.
Patient Experience
- Role model Relationship Centered Care practices (e.g., Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding).
- Respect patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions of care.
- Initiate service recovery and escalate concerns as needed.
- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
Quality and Safety
- Practice safe, patient-centered care and identify barriers to quality.
- Demonstrate clinical skills essential to patient safety.
- Implement process improvement strategies and participate in peer/institutional reviews.
- Collaborate on quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice, and nursing research.
- Follow high reliability principles to avoid high-risk behaviors.
- Escalate safety hazards following institutional protocols.
- Document nursing practice accurately to support quality initiatives.
Operations
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with leadership to ensure appropriate use and inventory of supplies.
- Escalate material or staffing shortages appropriately.
- Apply patient-focused, cost-effective approaches to resource utilization.
- Document thoroughly in compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
- Facilitate patient throughput during shifts.

- Advance clinical competence from novice to expert.
- Maintain a professional image and communicate with respect and empathy.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current New York State RN License
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- At least 2 years ambulatory and post-procedural care experience
- EPIC electronic health record experience highly preferred
- Travel experience (1 year) required only for travel positions, not for per diem
