Description

Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT)

Location: Rochester, Michigan
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 15 weeks (107 days ≈ 15 weeks)


Job Summary

Under general supervision, perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties as required.


Essential Functions

  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the exam.
  • Review clinical data and patient medical history as needed.
  • Prepare procedure room and replenish supplies such as linen.
  • Analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
  • Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
  • Administer intravenous contrast media, including use of power injectors; monitor patients for reactions and provide immediate care if needed.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies for procedures; assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
  • Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
  • Manage image quality and delivery into PACS; complete study indexing in Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing studies.
  • Maintain documentation in medical records and radiology information systems to support clinical and billing functions.
  • Demonstrate team member standards including communication, positive attitude, respect for diversity, and timely responsiveness.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Work may be in a hospital fixed unit or ambulatory mobile unit.
  • Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; proper precautions required.
  • Possible exposure to contagious patients.
  • Occasionally lift or move equipment and/or patients over 10 lbs.
