Job Opportunity: Maternal Fetal Ultrasound Technologist

Job Summary

• Assist radiologists with invasive diagnostic techniques specialized in maternal fetal ultrasound.
• Provide standardization and training to residents on these exams.
• Consult with patients to evaluate contraindications such as medications, preparation, or patient tolerance.
• Perform ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision.
• Conduct essential maternal-fetal ultrasound exams including:

  • Detailed anatomical evaluation
  • Complete fetal echocardiogram
  • Growth assessment
  • Fetal wellbeing (biophysical profiles, maternal/fetal Doppler, amniotic fluid assessments)
  • Needle procedure guidance
  • Maternal pelvic anatomy exams (including transvaginal cervical assessment)
  • Advanced diagnostic 3D/4D techniques
• Record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation.
• Assist supervising physician with invasive procedures as needed.
• Analyze sonography findings to ensure comprehensive exams and sufficient data for physicians.
• Recognize abnormalities requiring real-time radiologist observation.
• Capture images and Doppler recordings for radiologist interpretation.
• Provide preliminary diagnostic information to radiologists and referring OB providers.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years performing complex OB/GYN or vascular scans

Prior Travel Experience

Education Requirements

• Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / General Ultrasound or equivalent certificate program

Certifications & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered in:

  • OB
  • OB GYN

Preferred Certifications

• Fetal Echocardiography (FE)
