Job Opportunity: IMC - Associate Director of Nursing
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing - IPC
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
- Off-shift weekend/holiday supervisor role
- Responsible for overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care on the unit
- Oversees strategic planning, clinical management, patient care, budgeting, financial and quality management on the unit
- Promotes patient-focused care and fosters collaboration with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
Key Responsibilities
Standard Compliance
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards (CMS, IHI, CAP, etc.)
- Develop quality/performance improvement programs and corrective action plans based on tracer methodology
Operational Performance
- Develop and monitor personnel, supply, and equipment budgets
- Create long-term staffing schedules and ensure adequate daily coverage
- Monitor unit operational performance metrics, agency, and overtime costs
Clinical Practice / Patient Care
- Collaborate with Chief Nursing Officer to establish nursing care standards and evaluate staff compliance
- Facilitate support services essential to patient care
- Maintain a safe, culturally sensitive, and caring environment for patients and families
Management
- Participate in overall service planning and unit planning processes
- Use patient and staff satisfaction survey results to establish customer service and recruitment/retention agendas
- Develop effective nursing care delivery plans within the unit
Human Resource Development / Management
- Educate and evaluate staff on procedures and systems
- Provide growth and development opportunities, including education and training
- Establish unit metrics and goals to measure retention strategy effectiveness

Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years nursing experience including previous supervisory experience
- Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing required
- Licensure: Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State
- Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and ability to improve existing programs and processes
