Job Opportunity: RN PACU - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Specialty: Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Description
Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Core responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients
- Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
- Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
- Delivering competent patient care
- Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospital stay and discharge
- Informing patients and families about hospital procedures
- Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegating tasks to support staff
- Performing other assigned duties
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the specialty
Education Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (preferred)
Certifications & Licensure
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
