Job Opportunity: Staff Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Binghamton, New York

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care by protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering. The RN is responsible for compliance with professional nursing standards and regulations, including the New York State Nurse Practice Act and relevant nursing association standards. The role promotes a caring and healing environment in the Emergency Department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
  • Serve as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
  • Administer medications safely according to hospital policies.
  • Participate in resource management including staffing and time management.
  • Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
  • Support Nursing Shared Governance Model through unit council participation and improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education.
  • Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide a supportive learning environment for new staff and students.
  • Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.

  • Unit-specific requirements must be validated prior to submission

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
