Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Job Summary

• Administer radiation therapy according to physician instructions and patient treatment plans.
• Operate and adjust radiation equipment, entering data and regulating dosage.
• Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing radiation treatment plans based on patient condition and anatomy.
• Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered.
• Maintain patient and billing records, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions.
• Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy.
• Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for patients.
• Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety of patients, self, and others.
• Perform quality assurance procedures following state and federal guidelines.
• Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
• Certification in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Radiation Therapist experience within the last year (0 years of experience acceptable)
