CT Technologist

Location: Hoopeston, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures using various imaging equipment and contrast materials. Responsibilities include preparing and administering contrast material, acquiring and processing patient exams, and ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures and assigned invasive procedures according to protocols and guidelines.
• Independently perform multiplanar reformats and 3D rendered images.
• Review cases with radiologists as appropriate.
• Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
• Administer IV contrast material via existing IV line or by performing veni-puncture and IV placement.
• Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions to contrast.
• Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy.
• Review patient history and clinical data to ensure medical necessity.
• Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories.
• Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed.
• May perform duties of CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
• May perform duties in other imaging modalities if licensed and cross-trained.
• Report safety events immediately, including near misses.
• Transfer and verify image data for radiologist interpretation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography
• College diploma in a related field or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology
