Location: Johnson City, New York

Job Summary

Provide timely, accurate, and reliable respiratory therapy services to inpatients, outpatients, staff, and affiliated community groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy procedures including aerosol therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP mask therapy, incentive spirometry, M.D.I. therapy, suctioning, and extubation.
• Manage oxygen therapy, BiPAP-CPAP therapy, cough assist/vest therapy, high flow cannula/humidifier therapy, and mechanical ventilation including ventilator alarms.
• Perform pulmonary function screening, fit testing, pulse oximetry, adult and pediatric EKGs, and arterial puncture for blood gas analysis.
• Conduct quality control for the blood gas laboratory.
• Manage patient healthcare information systems and medication administration/dispensing programs.
• Verify physician orders and accurately record and report procedure results.
• Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) for adults, pediatrics, and neonates as certified.
• Maintain departmental records and assist with in-service training programs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Critical care experience
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
