Description
Registered Nurse - Nephrology
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients
- Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
- Administering medications and managing intravenous infusions and blood products
- Delivering competent patient care
- Communicating care plans with patients and families
- Making referrals for patient care needs
- Delegating tasks to support staff
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 1 year of nephrology nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Med/Surg nursing experience
- Stepdown nursing experience
- Experience with central line care and management
- Experience with end-of-life care and management
- Experience with dialysis site care and management, including proper care of a dialysis site; avoid using a hemodialysis catheter and avoid attempting to access a fistula for blood draws
