Description

Physical Therapist

Location: Clovis, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied
Contract Length: 27 weeks


Job Summary

  • Evaluate and treat patients using a variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders.
  • Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
  • Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health care.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Promote patient/caregiver self-determination and optimize resource utilization to achieve independence.
  • Serve as a patient advocate.

Pediatric Physical Therapist Additional Duties

  • Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions affecting motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, and gait.
  • Interview children and family members and use physical examination to diagnose movement disorders.
  • Float to adult units if pediatric patient census fluctuates.
  • Treat pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old and adults 18 years and older.
  • Settings include inpatient and inpatient emergency department.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Physical Therapist in the job specialty
  • Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • At least 13 weeks of total travel experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, including inpatient physical therapy experience
  • If working in pediatrics, at least 1 year of pediatric physical therapy experience
