Description

Registered Nurse - Pediatric Dialysis

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide direct nursing care to pediatric dialysis patients, aligning with professional nursing standards and organizational values. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administering medications and treatments, monitoring physiological data, assisting physicians, documenting patient responses, and collaborating with healthcare team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for assigned patients or groups of patients.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitor and intervene based on patients’ physiological data.
  • Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
  • Communicate care plans to patients and families during care and at discharge.
  • Delegate tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
  • Maintain professional development through mentorship, coaching, and certification upkeep.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful workplace.
  • Resolve patient complaints in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality patient care.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of pediatric dialysis nursing experience, including experience within the last year.

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory accreditation standards.
  • Skilled in advanced care delivery models and environmental design to ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based patient care.
