Description

Registered Nurse - Neurology

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse, Direct Care
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care to patients with a range of neurological health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing an assigned group of patients
  • Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
  • Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
  • Administering prescribed medications
  • Initiating and regulating intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Delivering competent patient care
  • Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and discharge
  • Making referrals for patient care needs
  • Delegating tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum 1 year of neurology nursing experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
