Description
Registered Nurse - Oncology Surgical
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients.
- Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments.
- Assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary.
- Administering medications and regulating intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Delivering competent patient care.
- Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Informing patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegating tasks to support staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 1 year of Surgical Oncology nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Stepdown nursing experience
- Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
